August 9, 10 Judge Judith Cataldo and gold-medal winners

2013 piano guild auditions August 9 and 10, 2013 in Huntington Beach, CA
With Florida judge Judith Cataldo, Cynthia, Kathleen and Stacey Phan, Kianna Ocasla, Anais Perkins and Sebastian Gonzales.


Cynthia, Kathleen and Stacey Phan's 2013 Piano Guild auditions

Cynthia Phan performed a college level double program. Her program included movements from the op 13 "the Pathetique" sonata by Beethoven, the Chopin Etude op 25#11, and op 18 Waltz; the Rachmaninoff Prelude in g minor op 23#5; the Malaguena by Lecuona, the last movement of Mozart's piano concerto K 597 and several movements of the Bach English Suite BWV 807.

These two programs marked Cynthia's 7th and 8th gold-medal piano Guild audition.

Both Stacey and Kathleen performed their 7th year National gold-medal programs.



Adam Ghilarducci performed TWO programs in the Piano Guild auditions

Adam Ghilarducci, age 13, performed two programs.  He played the Advanced Bach plaque and an additional regular 10 piece program.  The Bach program included 14 two part Inventions and 1 Sinfonia.

Adam's second program included the Alla Turca by Mozart, a Scott Joplin rag and two tangos by Astor Piazzolla.

Congratulations Emika - with a brand new 10-piece Intermediate C program, including scales, chords/cadences and arpeggios musicianship phases.

Nubia and Devin Gonzalez Piano Guild

This year marked Nubia's second Gold Medal performance in the Piano Guild auditions. Devin, proudly performed his first Honorary Gold Medal recital. August 9, 2013

Janardan Sai Sivapalan High School Diploma

This tremendous achievement marked the sixth High School Diploma for our Studio.

Sai's program included the entire Waldstein Sonata op 53 by Beethoven, the second Chopin Ballad, the J. S. Bach WTC I Prelude and Fugue in G Major and the Liszt Transcendental Etude 6 "Vision"

May 18, 2013 TVMTA Young Artist Competition

Sebastian Gonzales took 2nd place in the 4th - 6th grade division performing the E. Nazarth Fon-Fon and Stacey Nguyen Phan received an Honorable Mention for her performance of the Chopin Waltz Op 34 no 3.

In the 7th - 9th grade division Cynthia Nguyen Phan was awarded 3rd place for her performance of the Chopin Study Op 25 no 11.

Southern California Junior Bach Festival Regional Event May 11, 2013

I am very happy to state, that both Patrick Xu and Stacey Nguyen Phan performed in this Regional event.
Patrick Xu (age 16) performed the WTC I Fugue no 8 in d# minor, and Stacey Nguyen Phan (age 10) performed the WTC I Prelude no 23 in B Major.  Patrick Xu was declared a winner and was invited to perform in the Complete Works Audition in October.

MTAC Young Pianist Honorable Mention

April 21, 2013, Sebastian Gonzales received an Honorable Mention in the Elementary II Category performing the E. Nazareth Fon-Fon and the Robert Vandall White Heat.
