Emika Saito will be performing works by Bach, Mozart, Schubert, Lecuona and Hisaichi.

Inland Valley Symphony presents MUSIC @ THE LIBRARY. Admission is Free.  The recital begins at 2:00 pm and are part of the symphony's community outreach in partnership with the Friends of the Temecula Library.  The library serves refreshments.

Emika Saito wins Steinway Awards Festival second time

Emika Saito, age 12, second time Steinway Awards Festival competition winner, Junior Division. She performed in two master classes and one recital. The event, held at Rancho Mirage High School, in Rancho Mirage, started at 2:00 pm and ended at 7:00 pm. Emika performed the Schubert Impromptu Op 90 #4, the Joe Hisaishi Wind Forest, and the Mozart Sonata K 333, Allegro. She was awarded a $500.00 study scholarship

Stacey, Kathleen and Cynthia Phan are awarded the Advanced Bach Plaque

Stacey (age 11), Kathleen (age 13) and Cynthia Phan (age 16) received the Advanced Bach Plaque from the American College of Musicians. They successfully performed double programs each, earning them double gold medals. The programs included 15- piece Bach programs, that included 2 and 3-part Inventions, Preludes and Fugue from the WTC book I and movements from the second English Suite. The second program included all styles performing a total of 25 pieces.

Patrick Xu completed his Piano Guild High School Diploma

Patrick Xu completed his Piano Guild High School Diploma in a live audition that lasted almost two hours of non stop playing!
This marks the seventh Piano Guild High School Diploma completion.

90 minutes Piano Guild audition and three double programs

My first five students in the annual Piano Guild auditions this year. Patrick Xu preparing to perform in a 90 minute audition the regular 15-piece High School Diploma, piano performance music minor degree; Cynthia, Kathleen and Stacey Phan are each preparing to perform the Advanced Bach Plaque (15 Bach Inventions) and a second 10-piece program. Thulasi Yogarajah is preparing to present her 8th year National 10-piece program. 8 programs, 8 gold medals, 8 composers pins. The composers pins are awarded fir gold medal program after the fifth year.
Now, all we have to do is practice and perform. Five students, 100 pieces, including scales, chords/cadences and arpeggios.
All programs except for Thulasi's needed to be approved by head quarters.
Total performance time for these exams is six hours
