Bret Paddock performed two programs this afternoon, which he passed with flying colors. Bret completed the 90 minutes Piano Guild High School Diploma program and a second program performing a total of 25 pieces. His program included the prelude and fugue in D min WTC1 by Bach the complete Beethoven Sonata Op 31 no 2, the complete Gershwin Rhapsody in Blue concerto, and selections by Brubeck, Liszt, Debussy, Piazzola and Mozart. His program also included his own improvisation and scales, chords, cadences and modulation and arpeggios. The judge's comments were: "you can chose any path in piano- your talent is special indeed. An INCREDIBLE audition- the best I have ever heard. Good luck at UCLA! "

Mitchell Johnson achieves the Piano Guild High School Diploma
Mitchell Johnson completed the Piano Guild High School Diploma program, in a 90 minutes audition. Mitchie has been studying piano for 6 years with Eva Martin Hollaus. Mitchie is working towards a career in composition and engineering.

Dia and Raeva Solbach gold medals!
Dia performed her first gold medal program and Raeva performed her second gold medal program. Dia performed in the elementary A class and Raeva in Elementary C. Both played 10-piece programs. Congratulations to your hard work.

Cassiopeia Boston wins the Advanced Bach Medal in the Piano Guild auditions
Cassiopeia Bostan, age 11, successfully performed a 15-pieces Bach program in a 45 minute audition. The difficulty of this program is college level. The pieces included 11 two-part inventions, 1 three- part invention and three movements of the Second English Suite, all by J.S. Bach.
Cassie received a Certificate, a large gold pin, a report card and a large plaque.
This year marks Cassie's 4th year in the Piano Guild auditions and 4th 15-piece program.
Cassie has been studying with Eva Martin Hollaus since 2009 with a short interruption when she moved to Florida. Cassie is home schooled and receives Piano lessons via Skype.
Mitchell Johnson places in the TVMTA Young Artist competition June 2, 2012
Mitchell also teaches piano and also entered his student who received an Honorable Mention in the 7-8 grade division in this same event.
Mitchell is currently preparing the Piano Guild High School Diploma program, a 90 minutes audition which he will perform in August. Then, in college Mitchell is aiming for a double Major in piano and engineering.
